What is the main challenge s of NLP
In case of syntactic level ambiguity, one sentence can be parsed into multiple syntactical forms. Semantic ambiguity occurs when the meaning of words can be misinterpreted. Lexical level ambiguity refers to ambiguity of a single word that can have multiple assertions. Each of these levels can produce ambiguities that can be solved by the knowledge of the complete sentence.
But once it learns the semantic relations and inferences of the question, it will be able to automatically perform the filtering and formulation necessary to provide an intelligible answer, rather than simply showing you data. The next challenge is the extraction of the relevant and correct information from unstructured or semi-structured data using Information Extraction (IE) techniques. It is necessary to understand the competency and limitations of the existing IE techniques related to data pre-processing, data extraction and transformation, and representations for vast volumes of multidimensional unstructured data.
Natural Language Processing
By analyzing the context, meaningful representation of the text is derived. When a sentence is not specific and the context does not provide any specific information about that sentence, Pragmatic ambiguity arises (Walton, 1996) [143]. Pragmatic ambiguity occurs when different persons derive different interpretations of the text, depending on the context of the text.
Discriminative methods are more functional and have right estimating posterior probabilities and are based on observations. Srihari [129] explains the different generative models as one with a resemblance that is used to spot an unknown speaker’s language and would bid the deep knowledge of numerous languages to perform the match. Discriminative methods rely on a less knowledge-intensive approach and using distinction between languages. Whereas generative models can become troublesome when many features are used and discriminative models allow use of more features [38].
Context
Muller et al. [90] used the BERT model to analyze the tweets on covid-19 content. The use of the BERT model in the legal domain was explored by Chalkidis et al. [20]. There are particular words in the document that refer to specific entities or real-world objects like location, people, organizations etc. To find the words which have a unique context and are more informative, noun phrases are considered in the text documents. Named entity recognition (NER) is a technique to recognize and separate the named entities and group them under predefined classes. But in the era of the Internet, where people use slang not standard English which cannot be processed by standard natural language processing tools.
And, while NLP language models may have learned all of the definitions, differentiating between them in context can present problems. One of the main challenges of NLP is finding and collecting enough high-quality data to train and test your models. Data is the fuel of NLP, and without it, your models will not perform well or deliver accurate results.
